Hi! I’m Toan (Khanh) Nguyen, a PhD candidate at the Applied Artificial Intelligence Initiative, Deakin University, Australia. My current research focuses on diffusion models, image generation, editing, and multimodal generation, under the supervision of Dr. Thin Nguyen and Dr. Kien Do. Before working on diffusion models, I explored methods to improve the generalisation capability of machine and deep learning models, leveraging the theories of causal inference and invariant learning.

I’m always open to collaborations, discussions, and new opportunities. Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in my research or would like to explore potential projects together. Outside of research, I enjoy reading algorithms, solving combinatorics problems, playing chess and gomoku, and watching football — I’m a big fan of the tiki-taka playing style.
